Expansion Tank

Cylindrical shaped expansion tank is used to maintain constant and equal pressure inside heating as well as cooling systems to avoid their damage (associated with sudden excess pressure). This horizontally aligned tank is divided by diaphragm in two different segments. One section is attached to the pipelines of heating or cooling system and is filled with water. The other side remains dry and is filled with pressurized air at specific operating pressure. Diaphragm of this tank tends to push it down with the increase in pressure ( caused by the entrance of hot water into heating system or cold water into cooling equipment). As its result, the air of the tank compresses to create adequate space so that extra water can be stored. As its result, additional pressure inside the tank is reduced which in turn prevents damage of pipes.
